Mission and Objectives

UNDP works in 170 countries and territories to eradicate poverty while protecting the planet. We help countries develop strong policies, skills, partnerships and institutions so they can sustain their progress.

Context

UNDP Lao PDR is implementing the Inclusive Value Chains Programme which has been successfully adopted in 15 countries throughout Latin America and Eastern Europe. (Visit the link: Inclusive Value Chains | United Nations Development Programme for further details) Small businesses owned by locals have been able to see significant growth in their productivity levels, competitiveness, and more through the methodology and tools it provides. The programme aligns with SDG 5, 8, 9, 10, and 12, by empowering small business owners and providing them the means to grow their businesses especially as individuals belonging to marginalized identities such as women and PWD’s. As part of this support, many beneficiary businesses require improved commercial visuals (e.g., logos, product packaging, product photos, marketing materials) to strengthen their branding and better position their products in the market. High-quality commercial images are often a key barrier for small enterprises trying to access new customers, retailers, or distribution channels. By improving the visual identity and promotional materials of these businesses, the Online Volunteers will directly contribute to their market readiness, brand visibility, and long-term sustainability.

Task Description

We are seeking two Online Volunteers to support us in enhancing the commercial image of eight beneficiary businesses. Commercial image materials may include items such as logos, company profiles, product packaging, product catalogues, business cards or other visual assets, based on the agreed priorities. Under the guidance and supervision of the UNDP Team and business advisors, each Online Volunteer will: - Engage with assigned beneficiary businesses to understand their background, including target audience, brand priorities, market access challenges, and areas for improvement. - Identify commercial image needs in collaboration with the business advisors. - Design and develop 2–4 commercial image materials for each beneficiary business, such as logos, company profiles, product packaging, product catalogues, business cards or other visual assets, based on the agreed priorities.
