Story Writing: Sourcing Stories for Multimedia Campaigns

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. We work with partners to integrate qualified, highly motivated and well supported UN Volunteers into development programming and promote the value and global recognition of volunteerism.

The OV will work closely with the ROECA Communications Analyst and under the guidance of the regional communications team to support the creation, editing, and adaptation of content for digital platforms, including the UNV website and social media. This includes drafting articles, success stories, and human-interest pieces that reflect the values of volunteerism and the contributions of UN Volunteers to sustainable development. The OV’s contributions will be particularly valuable in the context of ongoing initiatives such as the IVD, IVY and Special Programme Initiatives, where editorial content plays a key role in showcasing the engagement of volunteers and the transformative impact of their work. The OV may also support content related to thematic areas such, gender equality, and youth empowerment, ensuring alignment with UNV’s editorial standards and strategic messaging. This assignment offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in UN communications, contribute to meaningful storytelling, and collaborate with a dynamic regional team committed to promoting volunteerism as a powerful force for change.
