Translation Support for UN Women Jordan’s Key Communications (Arabic–English)

UN Women is the UN organization dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. A global champion for women and girls, UN Women was established to accelerate progress on meeting their needs worldwide. UN Women Jordan works in close collaboration with the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the UN System, Civil Society, and members of the international community to advance the women’s national agenda, promoting women’s empowerment, women’s rights, and gender equality.

As UN Women Jordan expands its advocacy and policy engagement in 2026, accurate and gender-sensitive bilingual communication is essential to reach both local communities and international stakeholders. Language shapes perception. In gender equality work, terminology matters deeply. This assignment supports the integrity, clarity, and accessibility of UN Women Jordan’s public messaging. Under the supervision of the Head of Communications, the Online Volunteer will: - Translate communications materials between Arabic and English - Edit content for clarity, tone, and gender-sensitive language - Ensure terminology aligns with UN Women standards - Review translated social media and campaign materials prior to publication Expected Deliverables - Translation and editing of approximately 10 communication pieces - Final proofread versions ready for publication
