The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme is the UN organization that supports human development globally by promoting volunteerism and by mobilizing volunteers. It is administered by UNDP and operates amidst growing recognition that volunteerism makes important contributions, economically and socially, to more cohesive societies by building trust and reciprocity among citizens.
Context
The UN is operating in Yemen under one of the most complex humanitarian environments in the world. To deliver aid effectively, UN agencies must plan, budget, and structure their teams with maximum efficiency.
Currently, UN Agencies in Yemen are preparing for strategic workforce planning discussions. To make transparent, evidence-based decisions, leadership needs clear, structured data on how different employment contracts compare.
This is where you come in. Your analysis will directly support strategic discussions among UN leaders, helping them optimize their teams to better serve the people of Yemen.
Task Description
Your task is to conduct a structured, side-by-side comparison of three main types of employment contracts used in the UN system, including:
- United Nations Volunteers (UNV)
- UNDP Contracts (known internally as IPSA and NAPSA)
- CTG (a key UN partner)
To do this anlysis, you'll review and compare these contract types across four clear dimensions:
1- Salary Levels in Yemen: Monthly pay and annual equivalents.
2- Total Organizational Cost: Base pay, allowances, insurance, and extra employer costs.
3- Benefits & Entitlements: Health insurance, leave days, travel benefits, and end-of-service pensions.
4- Experience-Level Variations: How costs change for staff with 0–2 years, 3–5 years, and 5+ years of experience.
The final output must be developed in a professional PowerPoint presentation format, as the results will be shared with UN Agencies for coordination and workforce planning discussions.
