Mission and Objectives

UNFPA is the lead UN agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person’s potential is fulfilled. UNFPA’s new strategic plan (2018-2021), focuses on three transformative results: to end preventable maternal deaths, end unmet need for family planning, and end gender-based violence and harmful practices. In a world where fundamental human rights are at risk, we need principled and ethical staff, who embody these international norms and standards, and who will defend them courageously and with full conviction.

Context

The Palestine Marathon, organized under the auspices of the Higher Council for Youth and Sports, begins at Manger Square near the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem and passes through Aida, Azza and Dheisha refugee camps alongside the Wall. It is more than a race. It is a global platform for youth empowerment, dignity, freedom of movement, women’s participation, and cultural resilience. Through its Virtual Edition, individuals from every country can participate from their own cities, transforming the Marathon into a worldwide movement of solidarity. To significantly expand global reach and visibility, the Palestine Marathon aims to mobilize a large-scale network of Online Volunteers worldwide with the ambition of reaching millions of people across digital platforms. Your participation will allow you to: - Gain international campaign experience. - Expand your global youth and sports networks. - Develop practical skills in digital communications and advocacy. - Receive official UNV online volunteer certification.
