Mission and Objectives

As the United Nations lead agency on international development, UNDP works in 170 countries and territories to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality. Context

The GEF-7 Global Biodiversity Framework Early Action Support Project aims to fast-track readiness and early actions to implement the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) by providing financial and technical support to GEF-eligible Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in their work to align their National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) including national biodiversity targets, monitoring, policy, and finance frameworks with the Global Biodiversity Framework of the CBD.

Task Description

Under the direct supervision of the Head of Unit for Climate Change and Environment Programme Unit the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: - Support baseline data collection, conduct interviews, draft minutes and reports. - Support stakeholder mapping, including government agencies, NGOs, communities and pri- vate sector partners. - Assist in preparing materials for stakeholder consultations and capacity-building workshops. - Document key insights from community engagement sessions and expert discussions. - Support the development of communication material such as infographics, fact sheets, base- line stories and social media posts. - Manage the calendar of various meetings for meetings, communication and monitoring activ- ities. - Prepare logistics for field missions - Assist in organizing workshops, and consultation meetings. - Any other duties as required by the office. - Support with the Monitoring and Evaluation of the project.
