Mission and Objectives
Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD) supports the private sector and foundations to become transformative partners in development through research, advocacy for inclusive business, facilitation of public-private dialogue and brokering partnerships. IICPSD, established in 2011 in partnership with the Government of Turkey, is one of UNDP's six Global Policy Centres. It leads UNDP’s global work on private sector and foundations and supports UNDP’s offices all over the world. The Center focuses on four thematic areas:
1. Inclusive Business;
2. Private Sector Engagement in Skills Development;
3. Impact investing;
4. Resilience and Crisis Response.
The Center also hosts four global initiatives: Business Call to Action, SDG Philanthropy Platform, Global Islamic Finance and Impact Investing Platform and Connecting Business Initiative.
Context
As an Online Volunteer, you will support the team with the following tasks:
- Review website pages in Uzbek, Russian, and/or English (based on your language skills).
- Compare and align content across the three language versions.
- Proofread and edit text for clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
- Identify missing or incomplete content and flag gaps to the team.
Task Description
The Tech Volunteers for Resilience (Tech4R) programme, co-led by the United Nations Development Programme’s Istanbul International Centre for Private Sector in Development (UNDP ICPSD) and the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme, mobilizes skilled digital volunteers to co-develop open-source solutions that strengthen resilience, recovery, and sustainable development.
In collaboration with UNDP Uzbekistan under the GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP), Tech4R is supporting the improvement of the GEF SGP Uzbekistan multilingual website, which serves as a key national platform for environmental knowledge sharing and community outreach.
Currently, the website’s three language versions — Uzbek, Russian, and English — lack full synchronization, resulting in inconsistent terminology, incomplete sections, and varying user experiences. These discrepancies limit the platform’s accessibility for local communities and project implementers.
The Content Review & Translation Volunteers will align, proofread, and update multilingual content across the website’s language versions. Their work will ensure consistency, readability, and inclusiveness, supporting the effective dissemination of environmental and climate adaptation knowledge across Uzbekistan’s diverse linguistic communities.
