Mission and Objectives

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. We work with partners to integrate qualified, highly motivated and well supported UN Volunteers into development programming and promote the value and global recognition of volunteerism.

Context

Uzbekistan is home to a diverse and growing civil society landscape, yet many community-based organisations, local NGOs, youth networks, and grassroots initiatives remain insufficiently visible, connected, or engaged with national and international development processes. There is a clear need for systematic stakeholder mapping to identify key actors, understand their capacities, and establish sustained outreach mechanisms that can bridge the gap between on-the-ground realities and UN programmatic priorities .- Analyze the main Law “On Volunteering Activities” (2019, with 2023 amendments) - Identify and review related legislation (NGOs, youth policy, social protection, civic engagement) - Systematize the legal framework - Provide analytical insights and recommendations

Task Description

-Under the supervision of Partnership and Mobilization Support Officer, the Online Volunteer(s) will support research for the Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (ROECA) Uzbekistan office with preparing a structured analytical review of the legal framework regulating volunteerism in Uzbekistan, including systematization of laws, analysis of their roles, and identification of gaps and opportunities for improvement. - Conduct research, data collection and analysis in local context for law on volunteering. -Compile the research outputs and develop a report including suggestions on the updates and enhancements regarding volunteerism related processes. -Under the supervision of Partnership and Mobilization Support Officer, the Online Volunteer(s) will support research for the Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (ROECA) Uzbekistan office with volunteerism.
