El voluntariado es una forma poderosa de involucrar a los/as ciudadanos/as para hacer frente a los desafíos en materia de desarrollo, y capaz de transformar el ritmo y la naturaleza del mismo. El voluntariado beneficia tanto al conjunto de la sociedad como a los/as voluntarios/as, fortaleciendo la confianza, la solidaridad y la reciprocidad entre las personas y creando oportunidades de participación apropiadas. Para impulsar la paz y el desarrollo, el programa Voluntarios ONU promueve el reconocimiento de la contribución de los/as voluntarios/as, trabaja con sus asociados para integrar el voluntariado en los programas de desarrollo y moviliza en todo el mundo a un número cada vez mayor y más diverso de voluntarios/as, incluidos Voluntarios/as de las Naciones Unidas. Context

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme works with various agencies of the United Nations system and institutional partners to promote volunteerism as a tool for sustainable development. Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are key instruments used to formalize these collaborations. Analyzing and systematizing these documents will enable UNV to better understand existing cooperation models, identify common elements, and strengthen future strategic partnerships. This collaboration will contribute to improving institutional knowledge management and support UNV’s work in promoting volunteerism for development.

Task Description

The Online Volunteer will support UNV in the review, analysis, and synthesis of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) related to UNV operations and partnerships. Main tasks include: - Review and analyze existing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) within UNV. - Identify and synthesize the main elements of each document, including: purpose, scope, responsibilities of the parties, duration, and key clauses, in an organized digital record. - Support the identification of similarities, differences, and good practices among different MoUs. - Organize the information into comparative matrices or synthesis documents that allow the UNV team to quickly consult the key elements. Expected result - A digital repository of MoUs and a synthesis document that includes: - Structured analysis of the reviewed MoUs - Identification of the key legal elements of each agreement UNV will provide the documents and initial guidance on the expected analysis format.
