What the volunteer will do
Mission and objectives
UNIC Manama is responsible for promoting greater public understanding of and support for the aims and activities of the United Nations by disseminating information on the work of the Organization to people in Bahrain and the Gulf region.
Context
The United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Manama serves as the principal source of information about the United Nations in the Gulf region, covering Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar. UNIC Manama actively engages with diverse audiences, including youth, media professionals, government entities, and civil society, to promote awareness and understanding of the UN's mission and activities. Through various initiatives, such as lectures, forums, and educational events, UNIC Manama emphasizes the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), multilateral cooperation, and the role of youth in global diplomacy.
With this assignment, the volunteer will assist us in engaging our target audiences by delivering pertinent messages about the UN's work, advancing UN priorities, and adapting global UN campaigns to the local context.
Task description
We are looking for two online volunteers to support content creation for social media accounts of the UN Information Center in Manama, which covers the Gulf countries, on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
The selected volunteers will help produce up to 8-12 videos and social media stories.

Skills and experience
The online volunteers should have experience in digital marketing and communications, experience using Content Management Systems, excellent communication and strong copywriting skills, strong organizational and planning skills.
A degree in journalism, communications, humanities, or a related field is considered an asset.
