Mission and objectives

UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfil their potential. Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone. And we never give up.

Context

UNICEF works to protect and promote the rights and well-being of children and adolescents worldwide, guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Its mandate focuses on ensuring access to health, education, protection, nutrition, and social inclusion, with particular attention to the most vulnerable children and families. In Panama, UNICEF supports the government and partners to improve education, child protection, health, and social services for children and adolescents. The programme places special emphasis on vulnerable groups, including indigenous communities, while also strengthening systems for emergency preparedness and child-focused public policy. UNICEF Panama Country Office is seeking an online volunteer to provide support in data, monitoring, and social policy–related activities. The volunteer will contribute to quality assurance processes, drafting Terms of Reference (ToRs), and preparing workplans, while supporting the effective implementation and coordination of programme deliverables.
