Mission and Objectives

The United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), through the G20 Global Land Initiative (G20 GLI), works to accelerate global efforts on land restoration and address land degradation and desertification. In the lead-up to UNCCD COP17, the initiative aims to mobilize digital voices to raise awareness, engage global audiences—particularly youth—and promote key messages around land restoration, ecosystem resilience, and sustainable land use. To support this effort, UNCCD-G20 GLI is engaging 36 Digital Advocacy supporters to co-create and amplify content across social media platforms.

Context

We are seeking the support of online volunteers to increase global awareness and foster meaningful engagement around land restoration efforts and the objectives of UNCCD COP17 by strategically leveraging the reach, credibility, and creative storytelling of digital influencers across diverse regions and online communities. This with a goal of ultimately inspiring informed dialogue, collective action, and long-term commitment to sustainable land management worldwide.
