Mission and Objectives

The UN Resident Coordinator leads the UN Country Team, representing the United Nations system in interactions with Government, parliament, civil society and the private sector to advance agreed sustainable development objectives. The Resident Coordinator Office supports the Resident Coordinator and the UNCT in developing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on the UN Cooperation Framework (former UNDAF) and in all joint activities related to Agenda 2030 in Uzbekistan. The UN Resident Coordinator’s Office has five core functions: Strategic Planning Economics Partnerships and development finance Data and results management and reporting Communications and advocacy

Context

The Online Volunteer will contribute to two interlinked areas of work under a single assignment: 1. Donor Mapping and Grant Opportunities Analysis The Online Volunteer will: Identify and profile potential grant providers, including multilateral organisations, diplomatic missions (embassies), and International Financial Institutions (IFIs); Develop a Grant Opportunities Matrix mapping identified donors against relevant thematic priority areas. Expected Output: A structured donor mapping database and grant opportunities matrix (table format). 2. Youth and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Mini‑Research The Online Volunteer will: Produce a concise mini‑research paper analysing how young people are engaging with, developing, or being impacted by AI technologies; Apply a “youth‑by‑youth” approach by collecting primary data through short online surveys and/or semi‑structured Focus Group Discussions (FGDs); Synthesize findings to highlight emerging trends, digital gaps, and opportunities for youth‑led innovation in the AI space. Expected Output: A short analytical report (mini‑research paper) with findings and practical insights.
