Mission and Objectives

The Dakar hub operates as a sub-regional office of RBA covering West and Central Africa (WCA). It provides country offices in the WCA sub-region with dedicated management support, as well as policy and programming advisory services in key RBA priority areas, bringing this expertise closer to UNDP’s operational needs in the field. In addition, the Dakar sub-regional hub hosts RBA’s Sahel team, which provides dedicated support to country offices in that sub-region, as part of its contribution to the UN’s strategy for the Sahel. Under the overall guidance of the RBA Director and under the administrative and day to day management of the Regional Service Center for Africa (RSCA) Hub Director based in Addis Ababa, the WCA Sub-Regional Hub Manager leads the work of the Dakar sub-regional hub team, ensuring effective and quality support to UNDP country offices in the WCA sub-region. In addition, s/he leads the development and implementation of sub-regional initiatives, including work on the UN Integrated Strategy for the Sahel and fosters strong programmatic and advocacy partnerships with sub-regional institutions and other partners, including other UN agencies and members of the WCA Regional United Nations Sustainable Development Group (RUNSDG).
