Mission and Objectives

UNDP’s Global Programme on Nature for Development brings together three different initiatives under one program – the Equator Initiative, the National Biodiversity Initiative, and the Global Forest Initiative – in order to identify, foster, showcase and celebrate nature-based solutions that help achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at local, national and international levels. The work of the Global Programme on Nature for Development contributes to UNDP’s Strategic Plan 2014-2017 by charting sustainable development pathways through the conservation, restoration and sustainable management of biodiversity and ecosystems; and by promoting inclusive and effective democratic governance in the area of natural resources.

Context

UNDP’s Global Programme on Nature for Development brings together 3 different initiatives under one program – the Equator Initiative, the National Biodiversity Initiative, and the Global Forest Initiative – in order to identify, foster, showcase and celebrate nature-based solutions that help achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at local, national and international levels. Equator Prize case studies support a network of local sustainable development solutions. Case studies translated into communities' local language(s) advances recognition of these solution. Equator Prize translated case studies help us conduct more effective multi-stakeholder dialogues to accelerate forest action.

Task Description

We are looking for Online Volunteers to help translate a 15-page case study from English to Tok Pisin and help proofread the translation. The case study will be sent via email to the selected volunteers. We will select one volunteer for the translation and one for proofreading.
