Canada established diplomatic relations with Kenya at the time of its independence in 1963. Canada’s High Commission in Nairobi is our largest mission in Africa, accredited to Kenya as well as Somalia, Uganda, the United Nations (UN) Environment Programme and UN-Habitat. Kenya is represented in Canada by a High Commission in Ottawa.

The High Commission of Canada has a small grants programme called the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives. The requested art is to accompany the announcements of new projects online on the official X site. The volunteer is welcome to include their signature on the post and we can also tag in social media. It offers an excellent opportunity for exposure to an international audience.

The online volunteer is asked to create 6 images for X social media that can be used for the High Commission of Canada to promote its small grants development programme, the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives. The images are intended to be modern and engaging with no text (as they will be used on both English and French language X sites). The images are: Canada in Kenya Canada in Somalia Canada in Uganda Canada supports peace and security Canada supports governance, justice and elections Canada supports inclusive economic growth The images will accompany posts about newly selected projects in the coming months. I am looking for creative interpretations of these 6 concepts without any text. The submissions should also reflect the diversity of the concepts as well as cultural relevance to the countries included. A challenging, but interesting assignment!
