What the volunteer will do

Mission and objectives

UNDP is the UN’s global development network, an organization advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources, working with them on their own solutions to global and national development challenges. UNDP in Mozambique supports the Government of Mozambique to achieve sustainable development, create opportunities for empowerment, particularly for women and the most vulnerable, protect the environment, deal with disasters and build resilience, establish strategic partnerships; to improve the quality of life for all citizens.

Context

Over the past 5 years, UNDP Mozambique has implemented key initiatives under its governance portfolio, including the Decentralization for Development (D4D) programme, the Initiatives to Promote Decentralization in Niassa and Nampula (I4D), and the SDG Localization Project. These initiatives have contributed to strengthening decentralized governance systems, improving service delivery, and advancing the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As these projects approach closure (June–July 2026), four final project reports have been prepared, two covering decentralization interventions (D4D and I4D) and two focused on SDG localization. These reports consolidate key results, achievements, and lessons learned to be shared with donors, partners, and stakeholders. To ensure that these knowledge products meet high standards of quality and effectively communicate impact, there is a need to enhance their visual design, layout, and overall presentation, in line with UNDP branding and communications standards.
