Mission and Objectives

The WHO European Office for Investment for Health and Development, Venice Italy (WHO Venice Office) The WHO Venice Office is a centre of excellence in the thematic areas of health equity, gender equality and the social and economic determinants of health, in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the European Programme of Work. The work of the Venice Office is to promote investment for health equity as a priority for social cohesion and economic growth. At country level, the Venice Office supports Member States with tailored solutions to level up health within the population through multisectoral and gender responsive policies targeting the links between social and economic insecurity and health system resilience and impact. Implementation and support at country level is facilitated through the coordination of policy networks at subnational, sub-regional and regional levels.

Context

This assignment contributes directly to the development of the WHO European Strategy on Ageing is Living, a key regional policy framework supporting Member States in strengthening healthy ageing, long-term care, and enabling environments. The volunteer’s contribution will support the consolidation of feedback from 53 Member States, ensuring transparency, consistency, and quality in how comments are documented and addressed. This work is critical to maintaining an inclusive and well-structured consultation process.

Task Description

We are looking for an Online Volunteer to support the documentation and synthesis of Member States’ feedback received during formal consultations on the WHO European Strategy on Ageing. The volunteer will work closely with the WHO team to structure and organize comments into two Excel tracking matrices, corresponding to two rounds of consultations (May and summer). In particular, the Online Volunteer is asked to: - Review written and verbal feedback from Member States consultations; - Extract and summarize key comments clearly and concisely; - Populate and maintain 2-3 Excel tracking sheets (one for the consultation on 8 May, another on 2 July (possibly) and one for the summer consultation) using a standardized four-column format: 1. Source of comment (country / stakeholder) 2. Comment (verbatim or summarized) 3. Proposed response / how it is addressed in the revised draft (with reference to track changes) 4. Rationale (especially where comments are not incorporated) - Ensure consistency, clarity, and comparability across both rounds of consultations; - Update the matrices in a timely manner following each consultation; - Liaise regularly with the WHO focal point via email and brief virtual check-ins; - Support organizing inputs in a structured format to facilitate efficient revision of the strategy. Deliverables - Excel Sheet 1: Consolidated feedback and responses from May consultation (8 May) - Excel Sheet 2: Consolidated feedback and responses from July Consultation (2 July- possibly) - Excel Sheet 3: Consolidated feedback and responses from summer consultation - Clean, structured, and consistent matrices ready for internal review and strategy revision
