Mission and Objectives

The world is changing faster than ever before, and so too are the challenges facing its most vulnerable people. As conflict and displacement, disasters and climate change, urbanization and disease outbreaks grow increasingly complex and interrelated, new strategies and approaches to humanitarian response and development assistance are greatly needed. At the same time, rapid advancements in digital technology, for example in generative AI, are creating new opportunities - and risks - for children. Digital divides are deepening and further excluding the most vulnerable children. UNICEF is actively involved in leveraging digital technology to advance our mission of promoting the well-being of children around the world. UNICEF recognizes the transformative potential of digital technology in improving children's lives and is committed to using it to promote child rights everywhere. We want to make sure new technologies are inclusive and address the needs of children, women, minorities and special needs persons so all can be empowered by technology. UNICEF Digital Impact provides resources and guidance around digital child rights and safety online, as well as information and updates about programmes and work we do with our partners. For the past 8 decades, we have been innovating for children and believe that new approaches, partnerships, and technologies that support the realization of children’s rights are critical to improving their lives.

Context

With over 150 country offices, UNICEF relies on a consolidated KPI dashboard to monitor performance across global operations. However, this system was built over a decade ago using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). While it has provided a vital baseline for field monitoring, the legacy technology and underlying business logic have become outdated, limiting the organization’s ability to leverage modern, real-time data insights. To address these gaps, UNICEF is transitioning to a more agile reporting ecosystem. This role will focus on modernizing the dashboarding tools and refining the business logic to ensure country offices have the intuitive, high-performance analytics needed for contemporary decision-making. By moving away from static SSRS reports, you will help transform how the organization tracks and scales its impact worldwide.
