Mission and Objectives

The mission of WHO’s Health Emergencies Programme (“The Programme”) is to help countries, and to coordinate international action, to prevent, prepare for, detect, rapidly respond to, and recover from outbreaks and emergencies.

Context

IOM Zimbabwe implements a wide range of programmes addressing migration governance, displacement tracking, migration health, private sector engagement, and resource mobilization. Effective visual communication is essential to document achievements, present data clearly, and support engagement with partners and stakeholders. To strengthen the quality and consistency of institutional communication products, IOM Zimbabwe seeks to engage an Online UN Volunteer to provide short-term graphic design and layout support for priority materials, in line with IOM corporate branding standards.

Task Description

The Online Volunteer will work under the guidance of the Media and Communications Associate, under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and in close collaboration with programme teams to provide graphic design and layout support for selected institutional communication materials. Given the short duration of the assignment, specific priorities and deliverables will be agreed at the outset based on available time and institutional needs. Support layout and design of strategic and corporate documents for IOM Zimbabwe including: - 2025 Annual Report - Communication Strategy - Private Sector Partnership Impact Reports - Thematic Briefs - Private Sector Strategy - Resource Mobilization Strategy - Communication annexes to Project Reports · Develop social media cards and visual content based on the IOM Zimbabwe Annual Report · Redesign MHAC information sheets for website publication in line with IOM branding guidelines · Design visibility materials including banners, fliers, brochures Final deliverables are expected to be provided in both editable and publication ready formats, suitable for digital dissemination and print production, as required.

Skills and experience
Candidates should have professional experience in graphic design with previous experience in designing document layouts and must have in-depth knowledge of graphic design applications – Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, as well as good verbal and written communication skills. A degree in graphic design or related field is considered an asset.
