Under the supervision of the People & Culture Manager, the UNV People & Culture Officer is responsible for supporting the Cote d’Ivoire Country Office’s People & Culture management work, specifically in the functional area of Learning & Development, Innovation and change management, People analytics, etc.

Task description

Under the supervision of the People and Culture Manager, the UN Volunteer People & Culture Officer will support the office work as follows: Strategic People & Culture - Keep abreast, research, benchmark, and implement best and cutting-edge practices in P&C management and introduce innovation through sharing of best practices and knowledge learned specifically in the functional area of Learning and Development and Digitalization. Implementation of assigned People & Culture Services - Provide support on UN volunteers recruitment, career development, performance management. - Provie support on data analytics, learning & development etc.). - Help supervisors in implementing efficient client services that help either attract, retain and/or motivate staff of the highest caliber. - When assigned casework in the relevant area on either a routine or non-routine basis, analyze and synthesize issues and problems, and interpret established formal guidelines to address and recommend solutions or further actions required. Learning and Capacity Development - In collaboration with business owners, design and deliver learning plans for staff to enhance their knowledge and build skills in new areas. - Contributes to the mapping of competencies for all staff in assigned client portfolio, assisting in the development of a comprehensive framework in support of the development of the talent pipeline. - Recommend efficient and cost-effective learning products which strengthen staff capacity to contribute effectively to business goals. - Participate in capacity building initiatives to enhance the competencies of clients/stakeholders in close collaboration with the CO Learning and Development Committee. P&C Digitalization and Data Analytics - In collaboration with ICT and under the guidance of the P&C Manager, lead the process of development of the CO P&C SharePoint page and the digitalization of HR administration processes. - Interpret and analyze HR data to help inform strategic decision making on HR processes and strategies. - Develop data collection systems to optimize data quality for quarterly reporting.

Living conditions and remarks
As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. This position is based in Abidjan. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan. National UN Volunteers are expected to be culturally sensitive and adjust to the prevailing culture and traditions. Conditions of Service for national UN Volunteers The contract lasts for the period indicated above with possibility of extensions subject to availability of funding, operational necessity and satisfactory performance. However, there is no expectation of renewal of the assignment. The applicable Volunteer Living Allowance is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses. Life, health and permanent disability insurance are included (health insurance for up to 3 dependents - except for UN Community Volunteers), as well as final repatriation (if applicable). Furthermore, in non-family duty stations that belong to hardship categories D or E, as classified by the ICSC, a Well-Being Differential (WBD) will be provided monthly
