Mission and Objectives
KOSHISH is a leading mental health and psychosocial support organization in Nepal working to promote the rights, dignity, social inclusion, and wellbeing of persons with psychosocial disabilities and people with lived experience of mental health conditions. KOSHISH works closely with communities, self-help groups, caregivers, local governments, and service providers to strengthen community-based mental health and psychosocial support systems across Nepal.
Mission: To ensure a dignified life for persons with mental health problems and psychosocial disabilities through harmonization and implementation of laws and policies in line with international human rights standards including UNCRPD, and promotion of person-centered rights-based community mental health services.
Strategic objectives:
1: Persons with lived experience of mental health problems, psychosocial disabilities, or at risk demonstrate enhanced self-advocacy, meaningful participation, and economic empowerment.
2: Government agencies at all levels review, amend, and implement inclusive legal frameworks and budgets aligned with human rights standards for mental health and psychosocial disability.
3. Functional, inclusive community-based support systems are scaled up to provide person-centered mental health services and promote social inclusion.
4. Koshish's organizational viability, impact, and sustainability are strengthened through diversified resources and adaptive systems.
Context
As part of its ongoing programme development efforts, KOSHISH regularly develops concept notes, project proposals, and technical documents related to mental health, psychosocial wellbeing, suicide prevention, disability inclusion, livelihood support, and community empowerment. These documents contribute to the organization’s broader objectives of improving access to community-based mental health services, strengthening inclusion of persons with psychosocial disabilities, and advancing Sustainable Development Goals including SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 8 (Promoting decent work and economic growth) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
To strengthen the overall quality, clarity, coherence, and technical presentation of these documents, KOSHISH seeks support from an Online Volunteer with experience in proposal review, technical editing, and programme development.
