Mission and Objectives
UNDP Malaysia is committed to assist Malaysia and its people in establishing sustainable pathways to development. UNDP’s analytical work, household surveys, and policy offerings found uptake from multiple Ministries – Planning, Finance, Enterprise Development, National Unity, Environment, and Communications. UNDP led 3 of the 4 pillars of the United Nations Sustainable Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF). We combine global networks and best practices to indigenous knowledge and experiences to overcome challenges in the areas of: Poverty Reduction and Inclusive Growth, Democratic Governance, Crisis Prevention and Recovery, Environment and Energy for Sustainable Development, Women's Empowerment and SDG Financing.
Context
Youth Environment Living Labs (YELL) is a joint programme of UNDP Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei Darussalam and UNICEF Malaysia, in collaboration with Amanah Lestari Alam (ALAM), the European Union (EU) and OSK Foundation.
YELL (yell.my) hosts two important directories: Youth Leaders and Environmental Organisations in Malaysia. These are meant to help young people discover role models, partners, and opportunities. However, both directories are currently outdated, with limited entries, missing details, potential broken links, and no recent additions, which risks undermining user trust in the resource. .
Online Volunteers will address this by auditing existing content and sourcing new, relevant profiles. This effort supports SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening YELL’s role as a reliable connector within Malaysia’s environmental community.
Links to the directories are as follows:

Environmental Organisations: https://yell.my/environmental-organisations
Task Description
We are looking for 6 Online Volunteers to support us in addressing outdated information and updating YELL's existing databases on yell.my/youth-leaders and yell.my/environmental-organizations.
Under the supervision of the YELL Project Associate, each volunteer will be assigned to one specific category and is expected to review and process 25-35 existing entries and suggest 10-15 new additions.
Specifically, each Online Volunteer will:
For existing entries:
- Verify each person/organization remains active based on available sources such as social media, websites, and recent news.
- Review the accuracy of key information, including location, focus area, and role.
- Flag any broken links, outdated roles, or defunct organizations for removal consideration.
- Recommend minor updates where applicable, such as revised social media handles of the organization or changed roles of the focal person.
For new additions:
- Identify credible youth leaders or environmental organizations in Malaysia that are not currently listed in the directory.
- Use a provided Google Sheets template to log each new profile (name, type, location, focus area, description, source URL)
- Ensure all suggested profiles are active, relevant, and publicly verifiable.
All updates and new suggestions will be reviewed by YELL before being published. Online Volunteers will be provided with a spreadsheet containing the existing directory data, a simple checklist for verification, and clear criteria for what makes a suitable new addition.
