Mission and objectives

United Nations Information Centre Indonesia (UNIC) (UN DGC - Department of Communications) supports public information and communications efforts for the United Nations in Indonesia, helping to raise awareness of UN priorities, campaigns, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through media outreach, partnerships, and youth engagement initiatives, DGC Indonesia works to promote inclusive dialogue and public participation around key social and development issues.

Context

The UniLeague Play for Peace initiative, implemented in Indonesia as a country-level activation of the UN Youth Office’s global #Football4MentalHealth campaign, uses football as a platform to promote mental well-being, positive masculinity, youth leadership, and social cohesion among university students. Led by the GGN Foundation with support from UN entities and national partners, the initiative combines sports, mental health awareness, and peer engagement through both on-ground campus activities and digital advocacy. Through campaigns such as #LelakiBercerita, UniLeague encourages young people—particularly young men - to engage in more open, supportive conversations around emotional well-being, resilience, and community-building. Please note that working knowledge of Indonesian is required for this assignment.
