Mission and Objectives
WHO Country Office Kuwait inaugurated in June 2021 is mandated to support the Ministry of Health and other national institutions in meeting the targets of the Sustainable Development Goal 3 aiming to improve health and well-being for all at all ages. The CO is engaged in supporting country partners with technical assistance in specialized health topics in accordance with country support plans developed in partnership with the Ministry of Health. Additional areas of support include the implementation of capacity-building initiatives, multisectoral action plans, and the establishment of platforms to meet advocacy goals and forge dialogue around health issues of national priority with consideration to the UN guiding principles of inclusivity, equity, gender equality, respect, and dignity for all.
Context
WHO Kuwait seeks Online Volunteers to contribute to the development and dissemination of engaging social media content using existing regional communication assets. The volunteers’ contributions will help amplify important public health messages, strengthen audience engagement, and support awareness campaigns linked to international and regional health observances.
Through this assignment, Online Volunteers will contribute to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 3: “Good Health and Well-Being,” by supporting health promotion and strengthening public access to trusted health information.
Task Description
WHO Kuwait is seeking the support of 1 Online Volunteers who will work closely with the communications focal point to strengthen the organization’s social media presence and support public health awareness campaigns.
The Online Volunteer will support the team by:
- Designing engaging social media posts and visual adaptations using existing WHO regional communication assets.
- Supporting the regular scheduling and publishing of social media content related to key health observances and public health campaigns.
- Adapting messaging for different digital audiences while ensuring alignment with WHO communication standards and branding guidelines.
- Copyediting and reviewing captions or communication materials for clarity, accuracy, and audience engagement.
- Monitoring content organization and maintaining consistency in posting schedules across platforms.
Expected deliverables:
- At least 15 social media visuals and communication posts.
- Weekly scheduled and published awareness content linked to health observances.
At the end of the assignment, Online Volunteers will receive a certificate of appreciation for their contribution to WHO Kuwait’s public health communication efforts. Online Volunteers will not be requested to contact third parties on behalf of the organization.

- BA Graphics Design/Marketing/Communications/Other relevant discipline.
- Experience in graphic design, digital communications, social media management, or related areas.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content scheduling practices.
- Strong written communication and editing skills in English; Arabic is considered an asset.
- Experience using design tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, Photoshop, or similar platforms is desirable.
- Knowledge or interest in public health communication is considered an advantage.
