What the volunteer will do
Mission and objectives
The United Nations World Food Programme has been working in Armenia since 1994 to improve food security and resilience. What began as an emergency operation, transitioned to resilience building and recovery programming to reduce humanitarian needs by supporting food security, nutrition and rural livelihoods. And then from 2010 till now, WFP Armenia have embarked on a comprehensive set of activities related to food systems, school meals, social protection and disaster risk reduction.
The upcoming WFP Country Strategic plan 2026-2030 (CSP) focuses on institutionalization of key capacities, models, methodologies and tools by 2030. This means that WFP will gradually transition its interventions, knowledge, skills to the government, with major key milestones to be achieved under the emergency preparedness and government capacity strengthening to respond to emergencies.
Context
The online volunteer will work closely with the programme unit and the partnership team to:
Produce minimum 20 social media posts in the form of infographics related to food security, healthy eating habits, nutrition and school meals.

Short videos (2) Instagram)
4 short videos using available raw material provided by WFP
Submit recommendations for social media content for the next 3 months
Increase WFP Armenia followers to WFP Armenia facebook page, linkindin account
Proactively researches food security, nutrition, agriculture related content to WFP and pitch content to the Communications Team
Assist Comms team in engaging with influencers online to amplify campaigns/post
Ensure brand consistency in the social media messages and visuals
Amend content after feedback
Task description
The United Nations World Food Programme in Armenia seeks the support of one Social Media Content Creator (one fluent in English) to support the Programme Unit and the Partnership team in content creation for its social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin) for four (4) weeks with a possible extension to twelve (12) weeks.
Objectives of assignment:
Promote food security, healthy eating habits, school meals benefits messaging and amplification,
Under the guidance and supervision of the partnership officer, the online volunteer will develop and produce multimedia content in order to increase WFP’s Armenia social media reach, engagement, visibility and followers.
