Context

As part of the Directorate, the BRH Regional Communications Strategist supports the Executive Secretary and Asia Pacific team to elevate UNCDF’s corporate positioning both internally and externally, strengthen brand visibility and thought leadership by leading the development, harmonization, and amplification of communication activities and deliverables in line with overall business strategy, priority areas and upcoming Strategic Framework. The work produced by the Online Volunteer will be both internal and external, strengthen UNCDF's brand visibility and thought leadership, and elevate our communications visually. The products produced will help in the overall vision and mission to showcase to donors, partners, and the public at large the work being done by UNCDF. It will support in promoting, positioning and raising resources for UNCDF.

Task Description

Under the supervision of the Regional Communications and Advocacy Specialist, the Online Volunteers will support the development of visual communication products for UNCDF Asia-Pacific. Tasks will be divided in discussion with the selected Online Volunteers. This includes: - Supporting the design and layout of a regional newsletter, including reusable visual elements and templates. - Designing and formatting of PowerPoint presentations to translate complex technical and financial content into clear, visually engaging narratives. - Supporting the creation of a bank of user-friendly visual assets for web and social media (e.g. LinkedIn graphics, simple animations, infographics), aligned with UNCDF branding and to communicate key data and insights. - Assisting in the development of communication materials for events (banners, digital signage, promotional content) - Organizing and maintaining a shared library of visual and multimedia assets for team use. All materials will be the intellectual property of UNCDF. Candidates are encouraged to share their portfolios links in the motivation statement as a sample of their graphic design work.

Skills and experience
- Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite - MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva and Powerpoint is required, with a grasp of typography, color theory, composition, and layout design. - Familiarity with Adobe After Effects or other animation tools for motion graphics is an additional asset. - Have a keen interest and/or a strong desire to learn about: development finance, investments, and the implementation of Agenda 2030. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills to craft clear, concise, and engaging content is desirable. - Proactively communicate with team members, incorporate feedback, and maintain professional relationships with various stakeholders. - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
