Mission and Objectives
RCO Tunisia is seeking for an online volunteer to support the Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) in Tunisia in drafting stories with human-interest.
Context
- Identify and discuss SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and its connections to other SDGs (8 and 4).
- Analyze how story-driven narratives can highlight individual innovation and entrepreneurial initiatives.
- Develop research question formulation and use lightweight, non-internet-based methods to gather contextual insights.
- Each story should illustrate a real-world problem, the innovative approach taken, and the potential impact on local communities and the broader economy. The assignment emphasizes the role of individuals in advancing sustainable development and how innovation can be scaled within national and international frameworks.
Task Description
The volunteer will produce five human-interest stories (600–800 words each), drawing on their own research and identification of impactful youth stories online, as well as content gathered through a call for contributions, for publication on the United Nations in Tunisia’s social media platforms.
Each story will present the context, the challenge encountered, the action taken, the impact achieved, and how other Tunisians can draw inspiration from it to create a ripple effect and make a difference.
Deliverables:
- 2-3 draft and final versions stories
- Short paragraph + call to action to be published in sociale media (3 to 4 sentences)
