UNDP connects countries to knowledge, experiences and resources to help people build a better life. UNDP’s office in Trinidad and Tobago (UNDP TT) is a multi-country office, with responsibilities for Aruba, Curacao and Sint Maarten as well.
Context
UNDP Trinidad and Tobago is developing a comprehensive Youth Engagement Guidelines Report aimed at supporting institutions, civil society, and stakeholders in meaningfully engaging young people in development processes. The report consolidates insights, best practices, and recommendations drawn from extensive consultations and research.
The document is approximately 120/140 pages and is intended to be a public-facing, visually engaging product that can be widely shared across national, regional, and international audiences. The design will play a key role in ensuring accessibility, clarity, and impact, translating technical content into a compelling and user-friendly format.
Task Description
We are seeking one online volunteer to support the graphic design and layout of the Youth Engagement Guidelines Report.
Under the guidance of the UNDP Trinidad and Tobago team, the volunteer will:
Review and familiarise themselves with the full report content
Propose a visual concept and layout approach aligned with UNDP branding
Design the full report (approx. 140 pages), including:
Cover page and section dividers
Page layout and typography
Integration of images, graphics, icons, and visual elements
Develop data visualisations, infographics, and visual summaries to complement text-heavy sections
Incorporate references and materials provided by UNDP (e.g. photos, branding guidelines, sample reports)
Participate in a feedback and revision process with the UNDP team
Deliver a final, publication-ready version of the report
Expected Deliverables
Initial design concept (including sample pages or style proposal)
Fully designed and formatted 120/140-page report
Visual assets created (infographics, charts, icons where needed)
Final publication-ready files (print and digital formats)

Skills and experience
1–2 years of experience in graphic design, editorial design, or layout development
Experience designing long-form publications or reports
Proficiency in design software (e.g. Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Canva, or similar)
Strong attention to detail and ability to structure complex information visually
Good communication skills and ability to incorporate feedback
Access to required design and editing software
A degree in graphic design or a related field is an asset.
