Mission and Objectives

- Mission Action by Churches Together (ACT Alliance) is a coalition of more than 148 churches and church-related organisations working together in over 128 countries to create positive and sustainable change in the lives of poor and marginalised people regardless of their religion, politics, gender, race or nationality in keeping with the highest international codes and standards. ACT Alliance is faith-motivated, rights- based, impact focused, committed to working ecumenically and inter-religiously, with the communities we seek to serve and accompany at the centre of our work. Our members respond in areas where suffering, poverty and injustice occur, regardless of location. ACT members are committed to leaving no-one behind. Hope in Action seeks to include those who are otherwise excluded or marginalized. ACT seeks to release the agency of people affected by poverty and crisis by moving them from being passive recipients to actors in their own development and relief. In doing so, ACT Alliance enables, supports, brings specialist skills, enhances voices and shares learning, enabling and accompanying communities to realize their hopes and ambitions through joint action. - Objectives In promoting a just, inclusive and sustainable world, ACT Alliance implements effective humanitarian, development and advocacy work at national, regional and global levels by saving lives, providing emergency assistance and supporting sustainability, enhancing the rights of those whose rights are not realized.

Context

This assignment supports a global consultation process led by the Gender Justice programme to gather inputs from member organizations across regions. The process aims to assess current approaches, identify priorities, and inform strategic direction on gender justice within the alliance. The consultation includes a structured survey, complemented by a limited number of interviews and focus group discussions, to capture both quantitative data and qualitative insights. The assignment will contribute to ensuring an effective rollout of the consultation, systematic organization of inputs, and the generation of preliminary analysis to support internal reflection, planning, and decision-making.

Task Description

Main Tasks and Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Global Programme Manager for Gender Justice and the Regional Representative, the UN Volunteer will support the coordination and implementation of the consultation and data-gathering process, with a particular focus on survey administration, response tracking, data systematization, and preliminary analysis of findings. In particular, the Online Volunteer will be expected to undertake the following responsibilities: 1. Survey coordination, administration, and analytical review Support the coordination and rollout of the questionnaire to member organizations, ensuring timely dissemination and follow-up. Monitor the status of responses and maintain an updated tracking matrix to support effective oversight of participation. Follow up, as requested, with designated focal points and relevant contacts to encourage timely and complete submissions. Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or missing information in survey responses and flag issues requiring further follow-up. Contribute to the preliminary review and analysis of survey responses, identifying key trends, recurring issues, areas of convergence, and matters requiring further clarification. 2. Support to interviews and focus group discussions Support the organization and scheduling of a limited number of interviews with selected member organizations and/or focal points. Assist in the preparation of interview guides and supporting questions, in coordination with the supervisor. Support the organization of a limited number of focus group discussions, where relevant, to complement survey data with qualitative insights and contextual perspectives. Take notes during interviews and group discussions and support the preparation of concise summaries of key points and findings. 3. Data consolidation, systematization, and documentation Compile, organize, and maintain responses and related inputs received from member organizations in a clear, structured, and accessible manner. Support the cleaning, consolidation, and categorization of data collected through the survey, interviews, and focus group discussions. Contribute to the systematization of information in formats that facilitate internal review, comparative analysis, and synthesis of findings. Organize relevant supporting documentation, reference materials, and policy inputs shared by members, as applicable. 4. Preliminary analysis and internal reporting support Contribute to the preparation of preliminary summaries of findings, including key trends, recurring themes, promising practices, and common challenges emerging from the consultation process.
