Translation of the training materials from English to Romanian.

UNICRI is a United Nations entity established in 1968 and mandate to assist intergovernmental, governmental and non-governmental organizations in formulating and implementing improved policies in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice. The Institute strongly emphasizes action-oriented analysis and integrated technical assistance. The current priorities are justice reform, financial and emerging crimes and security governance. UNICRI, as part of the European Union’s (EU) CBRN Risk Mitigation Centres of Excellence (CoE) Initiative, has leveraged the expertise outlined in the Prosecutors Guide on Chemical and Biological (CB) Crimes and the Prosecutors Guide on Radiological and Nuclear (RN) Crimes to craft a comprehensive capacity-building and training package. This initiative is designed to enhance investigative, prosecutorial, and adjudicative capabilities within the realm of CBRN crimes.

This task supports the CBRN Training in Moldova. Accurate translation of the presentation and notes into Romanian will facilitate effective knowledge dissemination and enhance capacity-building efforts in the region. Expected start date of the UNV assignment is 15 May 2026

The primary objective of this assignment is to translate and proofread a presentation and its accompanying notes from English to Romanian. Main Deliverables Translation of Presentation and Notes: - Translate the PowerPoint presentations from English to Romanian. In total about 30 Presentations with a maximum of 20 slides each. - Translate accompanying, explanatory notes under each slide and supplementary materials, such as case studies, explanations, guides, and manuals. In total about 15 A4 format pages. - Translate training questionnaires from English to Romanian. About 20 A4 format pages. - Translate handouts and other training-related documents. About 25 A4 format pages. Proofreading and Quality Control: - Review all translated materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity. - Ensure that translated documents retain the original meaning and are culturally appropriate. - Cross-check translations with the original documents to confirm that all content is accurately conveyed. Formatting and Delivery: - Ensure that translated materials are properly formatted and aligned with the original document’s design. - Deliver final translated documents in both digital (PDF) and editable (Word) formats. Collaboration and Communication: - Work closely with the UNICRI team, including consultants to receive feedback and ensure alignment with project objectives. - Maintain regular communication with the project team for updates and progress tracking.
