Mission and Objectives
The WHO European Office for Investment for Health and Development, Venice Italy (WHO Venice Office)
The WHO Venice Office is a centre of excellence in the thematic areas of health equity, gender equality and the social and economic determinants of health, in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the European Programme of Work.
The work of the Venice Office is to promote investment for health equity as a priority for social cohesion and economic growth. At country level, the Venice Office supports Member States with tailored solutions to level up health within the population through multisectoral and gender responsive policies targeting the links between social and economic insecurity and health system resilience and impact. Implementation and support at country level is facilitated through the coordination of policy networks at subnational, sub-regional and regional levels.
Context
This assignment directly supports WHO/Europe’s efforts to coordinate and strengthen its regional networks on Child and Adolescent Health and Health Promoting Schools, both of which are central mechanisms for implementing the Regional Strategy for child and adolescent health and well being, including the WHO/UNESCO initiative “Making Every School a Health Promoting School.”
Effective coordination with national focal points is essential for sharing information, gathering country inputs, and maintaining engagement across the Region. The volunteer’s contribution will ensure smoother organization of meetings, timely follow up, and more efficient communication workflows, enabling the technical team to focus on substantive programmatic work.

- Support the consolidation and organization of documents in shared folders for easy access by the network.
- Provide simple administrative support for webinars or online workshops as needed (e.g., participant tracking).

Daily workflow & logistics:
The volunteer will collaborate with the WHO team primarily via email and virtual meetings (1 short check in per week). Tasks are flexible and can be performed remotely within the volunteer’s own schedule, with some availability needed around scheduled online meetings.
